Introduction
You can use Xonboard to onboard your contractors into Xero Payroll, for the purpose of paying their superannuation through payroll.
How-To
To invite an employee to onboard as a contractor, invite them as you would any employee:
- On your dashboard, navigate to the relevant organisation tile and click Onboard employees. This is also accessible under the organisation settings cog.
- Under Invite a user to join your organisation, ensure the By email address tab is toggled.
- Enter the employee’s email address and select Employee from the User Kind menu.
- Click Send invite.
Xonboard does not currently support a separate onboarding flow for contractors, so they will need to go through the regular employee process and complete their TFN declaration.
After they have completed their onboarding and they are ready to finalise their details, you can specify they are a contractor, with an employment basis of non-employee.
Xonboard does not capture a contractors ABN, so you'll need to manually enter this against their employee record in Xero if this is something need captured in Xero.
