Introduction
Xonboard is a tool used by employers to securely gather onboarding information from new hires, before adding their new hire into their payroll system. Xonboard is also used by bookkeepers who manage onboarding activities on behalf of their clients.
Context
So what does it mean when you receive an email invitation to onboard with an employer via Xonboard?
If you've received an email inviting you to join a company, it is likely because they have recently hired you and are requesting onboarding details from you. You may also receive an email invitation to join the company as an employer or advisor to manage onboarding activities on behalf of the organisation.
Xonboard can also be used to retrieve updated details from existing employees, so you may receive an onboarding invitation email from your existing employer to collect updated information.
These emails will always come from [email protected].
You can check to see the email address of the person who initiated the invitation by looking at the "reply to" email. The person who initiated the invite will likely be your new manager or employer, or, the bookkeeper who manages onboarding on behalf of your new employer.
If you are believe the nature of your onboarding invitation is suspicious, please raise this with your employer via their appropriate contact number.
You can also reach out to us directly on [email protected] to report any email you believe to be suspicious.
